What is the value of this?

I was lucky enough to recieve a $500 sealed mint box of Texas Quarters.(What is the value of something like this. It contains 50 rolls of Texas Rolls.

They came from the Denver Mint. My mother-in-law works at a bank and conspired with my wife to give it to me for my birthday.

What is the value of something so unique as this.

    $500.

Though someone who collects these or cherrypicks for fresh-from-the-mint gems might give a *small* premium over face value. But not much.

I'm pretty sure that $500 worth of quarters is worth at least $500.

$500 right now... perhaps $550 a couple of years from now. It would be total speculation. It's a pretty safe investment, though. They'll always be worth $500... baring the fall of the Unitied States.

  • Keep them sealed and hang on to them. The longer you keep them, the higher the value I would think, but don't expect a huge increase in value from the $550.00 that someone else mentioned.
  • Some State Quarter collectors often pay a modest premium over face value for mint quarter rolls.

for $500, instead of a box of new quarters, I'd personally rather put away something small (easier storage), old (neat) and rare (good prospects for appreciation). something like a draped bust quarter in Fine/VF, a no motto seated dollar in EF/AU, or a $5 indian in MS60-62.

anyway, to your question, if you're trying to sell it now you could get probably the $550, but if you wait that will go up, most likely. take care of your box and like someone said, don't open it and store it someplace cool and dry. good luck!

  • I'd break'em out and cherrypick'em.There could be a 68 in there.
