Do you have the seller's contact information? If so, call them.
  • how did you pay ?

    Who's the seller?

Always looking for original, better date VF20-VF35 Barber quarters and halves, and a quality beer.
  • Yikes! I think you could be screwed. Hope it wasn't a lot of money?? I would contact eBay (check on their site map page), file charges for mail fraud, and whatever else you can do. Also, if you have the person's name, look him up on the internet, and get his phone number and call him. But first look him up on mapquest.com, and when you call, pretend you are verifying directions to his house. Good luck!

Curious. Feedback rating 216 (379 total), no negatives, looks like they've been selling a lot of real items. Not much in the history screams "scammer in waiting" to me.

Though two recent feedbacks link to "invalid items". Depending on what these items were, they could have something to do with this user being NARU'd.
  • How much did you pay? That would make a difference on how I would handle it. You don't want to pursue mail fraud charges over a small amount.
  • I only paid a small amount. But I still want what I paid for.

  • Well, your only opitions would be legal options. If you want it that bad, you are going to be out a more money then you paid for it, and time. I start by sending a registered letter to the address that you mailed the payment to, insisting on a refund or the item.
  • Thanks for your help.image

  • Also, you might contact ebays fraud department, and, I've heard of individuals calling the local police stations where the individuals live. Don't know if that would do much good though.

Hey why is everyone yelling fraud. If the seller broke one of Ebays listing rules he could have got suspended for a period of time. One of our forumn members had this happen to him two weeks ago or so. Certainly he is not a scam artist.

Try getting ahold of the guy for awhile longer then if this does not work maybe yelling scam and fraud is in line. This persons Feedback just does not say Scam and Fraud.

You can't sell on eBay without providing contact info.

Ken is right. Hell, he could have got NARU'd for nothing more than an expired credit card.

Sure they do -- you have at least their address. Try calling the BBB or local police in their town and see if they can offer some assistance.
  • Took a quick look in "E Bay Hacks" by O'Rielly and it had a couple other ideas on tracking someone down. He suggests using Google to search the users name, e-mail address, postal address, phone number, zip code or anything else. Also says to try using e-bays users forum to maybe find others who have dealt with this person.

The high rating or ebay identity may have also been stolen to mislead you. Cyber worlds version of identity theft. Best of luck. Hope you get resolution some way or another.

Have you tried using E-Bays get user info. You put your ID and the Item number in and it will E-Mail you the user info...
It is not exactly cheating, I prefer to consider it creative problem solving!!!

Ok i'll do that and send the seller a "letter".

The seller could have had a family emergency of some kind. Or maybe his computer crashed big time. image

It does not look like fraud. A seller with that track record should be given the benefit of the doubt. Even if a good seller went bad, it is unlikely the seller would risk their reputation for a small transaction. Make a plea to ebay for help in contacting the seller. Not sure if that will work, but it is something.

This is the key for me. How much is a "small amout", and depending on that amount is how hard I persue this.

It may be a little early to think you have been scammed.

Some sellers treat money orders like checks and wait for them to "clear".

He did change his Ebay ID only 10 weeks ago.

Coinfreak, PM me his name and address (you do have that, right?).
