Need help with Washington colonial

Are there any diagnostics that can help me determine if this coin is authentic? I do not see the word COPY anywhere. There also are numerous die cracks. The surface almost looks like a dried lakebed. Also the edge is plain which I have read is a rare variety. Thanks for your help. imageimage

Is there a seam on the edge?

    Jeremy,

There is no seam. However when I look real close I can see remnants of some reeding. I think it is a fake.

This is a Conder token, Middlesex 243. And a plain edge would definitely be rare because it is not known with a plain edge. The edge should be lettered with AN ASYLUM FOR THE OPPRESSED OF ALL NATIONS .X. No plain edg piece is listed in Dalton & Hamer or is any of the new variety addendums (1990, 1996, and 2004) Altough Breen does list two pieces. This piece is frequently seen as a lead filled electrotype. Checke for seam on edge or where the edge meets the rim.

First thing is to check the weight. It should be 19.44 to 20.34 grams. A specific gravity would be even better as it should also identify an elctrotype (SG = 11.3) from copper (SG=8.9)

i've owned several of those over the years. that 1 doesn't look "right", but you digi-pics & lighting seem really weird, too.
