1873 CC No Arrows Dime Returns To Nevada

A Reno dealer bought the 1873-CC Without Arrows Dime in Baltimore for $891,250.00. What's cool about this is the fact that he plans to display the dime at the annual coin show at the Carson City Mint in August. It will be the first time the coin has been "home" in 131 years. I hope they place it with the other coins in the Mint's collection, even just for a short time.

Do you have any more info about the show? Just so happens, I'm going to be out that way in August.

BTW, I looked at the coin at the lot viewing in Baltimore. It's a beauty!

Why take the risk? Might as well just display a 73-P No Arrows. Put it in a big fancy holder marked 73-CC. If the coin stays in the showcase, nobody will know it doesn't have a mintmark.

    Barry,

I stopped by the Nevada State Museum/ CC Mint on my way to work and picked up a flyer on the show. It's on August 28 & 29, 8:30-4:30 PM. There is a number you can call for more info. 775-687-4810 ext. 222. I haven't been to the show, but I am going this year. I've heard it's a great time. On a side note, I checked out the CC collection for the first time in years this morning. Nice.

Thanks Eric. Unfortunately, that's not when I'll be in the area. Oh well...
