It's amazing to me that the Mantle/Maris mag went for what it did. What did that '62 Post Yaz just go for last week Andrew?

    Did I leave anything out?
  • I didn't follow the '62 Post Yaz auction, but thought a still-attached to-a-mag Mantle would have brought a premium. The Mantle collectors must know, so maybe those cards aren't so unique.

A few months back I would have snatched those discs, but I've since decided to add more focus to my collecting pursuits. I'm now going for every OPC set 1965-1994 (just bought seven modern sets for ~$80), a few more Venezuelan cards ('68 Ryan not being one of them), and a few big cards. That is, I'm going to pass on samples from sets I find intriguing, e.g., '61 Dice Leon Wagner, those discs, Boston Garters, etc.

On a side note, does anyone use those 1" lucite screwdowns, the big-thick ass ones? I placed my '59 Mantle in one and it looks spectacular. If graded, I think it would get a 3 or 4, so I made an exception to keep a Venz raw.
