Have you seen this so-called PCGS 65 1932-D

up for auction at Heritage? I believe it's the auction that ends in a few days. How that "Thing" grades 65 is beyond me. There are hits all over the obverse and a huge chunk missing out off his cheekbone! There is also a 64, don't remember if it's a D or S that has a huge zit on the end of ole George's nose! Wonder how these attained their grades?image

It's impossible for me to tell whether they're hits, spots, toning, or other. I'd have someone look at the coin for me before I bid. JMO

Georgie's face around the eyebrows and cheek looks like he was in a bar fight. That's some serious bucks!

I can't believe someone would pay that right now for a 32-d, at the height of the state quarter popularity. What did a PCGS 65 32-d cost in 1998?

    Boom,

I agree, I do not like that coin in a 65 holder, belongs in a 4.

Too many of these washington 32-d are being pushed up a half grade point lately. Many 64's I see should be in 3 holders. Seems that they have been getting the benefit factor in the past year or two.

tough to judge from a crappy digi-pic. i tend to think it's optimistic at ms-65 as well. furthermore, looks cleaned to me.

but again, these are sight UNSEEN commentary.

DITTO! A picture is a poor way to evaluate a coin. Barely above sight unseen -- for proper grading.
