Proof Platinum / Gold Eagles Sets

Hi everyone. I am new here but have posted on other boards before. I have the following items available for sale if anyone is interested.

1) 2000 Platinum Proof 4 coin Eagle Set
2) 2000 Gold Proof 4 coin Eagle Set
3) 2001 Platinum Proof 4 coin Eagle Set
4) 2001 Gold Proof 4 coin Eagle Set

All of the sets are in mint condition and come in the original case from the mint.

I don't know what the market is for these sets but I know what I paid for them. I would prefer to sell all four at once but will sell them indivdually. I am in Cherry Hill, NJ and work in Phila, PA if anyone is interested in seeing them in person. My ebay ID is dont-have-a-cow-man and I have 284 unique positive feedbacks (408 total) with no negatives. As you can tell, I am a big Simpsons Fan. Here is a link:

My eBay Feedback

Please email me (yale@donthaveacowman.com) if you have any questions or would like to make me an offer. btw, what is the market for these sets? What is a fair amount? Is there any market at all?

Thanks.

  • Hey everyone...don't all answer at once. Even if you are not interested in buying these, could anyone give me an idea as to what these are worth. I am going to sell them and would like to not get ripped off (too bad anyway) while still giving someone a nice deal. I have had an offer for $4800 for the set of 4. It seemed a little low (it was from a local coin and stamp shop and I figured it would be). Do I take it or hold out? I prefer to avoid ebay since the value is so high but would sell them there is that is the concensus here. You folks know your coins so I have come here for suggestions. I know the Simpsons...you can ask me anything you want about Collecting that stuff. Thanks.

  • It doesn't take long to drop to page 5 here. Anyway, I was hoping with all this coin knowledge here, someone would have helped me with at least a value but I guess I will have to look elsewhere. image Thanks anyway and I wish you all luck here! image

personally I think the coin shop's $4,800 offer was pretty fair. The major wholesalers pay $1,030 on the gold sets and $1,500 on the platinum sets. That means if the coin shop shipped them to one of these guys they'd get $5,060. To me that's a reasonable profit.

By the way welcome to the boards.
