Nice auctions but here's a couple pointers for ya.

    1. Don't take pics of the coins being touched. Even if you are extremely carefull and you, personally, know you've done no damage to them the bidders don't know. Seeing raw coins being hand held in an auction pic will scare off most experienced collectors. Remember...they don't know you and as far as they know those coins have been manhandled. You'll get more bids without the fingers.

    2. Some of the coins your auctioning have been harshly cleaned and/or whizzed. It's extremely obvious from your photos. Go ahead and state this in the auction. Yes, you will get less money for them BUT the buyer will know what they are buying and you won't have to deal with angry buyers wanting a refund. Also, if experienced collectors see you are specifically noting the damage to the coins you are selling they will be more apt to trust your judgment and not suspect you of scamming.

    3. Get rid of the "gobledygook" chart showing the coins you have for sale and replace it with a hypertext link to your other auctions. Just makes the auction more visibly gentle.

    4. Looks like you have a pretty good camera and lighting set up but try to shy away from taking pics of the coins at an angle. This will immediately scare off collectors that know what they are doing because massive amounts of damage can be hidden by an angled shot.

You have the beginnings of a good format. Fix a few probs and youll be doing good in no time.
  • Thanks for the info:
I am learning quickly. keep the grubby fingers off, less talk and more action.
However, not being a ms68, it may have been a blessing that I held this coin improperly. I seem to have sparked a massive amount of attention because of that. image
