MS69 IKE Dollar Fire Sale!!!!!! Sale Over 7/20/04

Has anyone seen the MS69 POP for the 1976 S Ike Dollar today?

I do not know when it went to 74 from a prior zero but that is what is listed today. Also the MS68 POP is 92, the last time I looked it was around 70.

I have to guess that this is a mistake, or one motherload of MS69 Ike's has recently been graded!image

Looks like a bulk deal of proofs may have been entered as MS coins? Someone should alert PCGS.

    hey David

the best bet is that it's as Mitch says, but lets not forget about the bulk submissions of early 1970 Jefferson proofs from a while back. things can change in a hurry with moderns, though it's not likely with MS69 Eisenhowers.

    WOOHOO!!!

I will give anyone two dollars each for their old MS67's image

Hurry up before all the other MS69's get graded and the MS67's aren't even worth a dollar.image

I believe that if a single PCGS-MS69 1976(s) Ike ever gets graded (I've never seen a single 76(s) Ike in 20 years that could grade MS69), you can count on it fetching a "ton" of money.

GRANDAM is still around.....and if any one comes up with a 76-S Silver Ike in 69....He'd be the guy!
He's the only one I know who can find a 76-S in MS68 Mint Error Ikeimage
He's found other MS69 Silver Ikes....
It's only a matter of time before he lands a 76-S Silver Ike.
I found a 76-S Slver Kennedy in MS69 once....but they are a LOT smaller than those big ole Ikesimage

  • I have one out at PCGS now that is a (I think) lock 68, shot 69. It'sin a Modern submission that was rec'd. June 4th, so I should know in about a month. Hey, a guy can dream, can't he?

It appears the pop numbers usually follow about a week after you get the coin back.

I got a 1954 S MS66 Jefferson back from PCGS and the pop showed 20 coins at this level (same as before I submitted the batch of coins for grading). A couple of days later the pop went to 21.

I would not anticipate the grade of your submission based on movement in the pop charts.

    Sumdunce,

I don't even have a 76-S Ike in this batch (hope I didn't imply that I did) and would never estimate
grades on a pop report. I think they get updated a week or two after they are slabbed......(I think
    on Thursdays?)
My first-ever submitted lincoln memorial is in this batch,...couldn't even GUESS because I know nothing
about them. I just know this one has no marks.
I ALWAYS cross my fingers, say a prayer or two, and sometimes offer a beat-up ole Ike as a sacrificial lamb
    to the PCGS Gods!image

Congrats On The SBA Set. I Hope To See A Lot Of Ike People At The
Charlotte Show ! I Bought 7 More 1972-D Peg Leg Ikes From A
    Local Charlotte, N.C. Dealer For $ 3.00 Each !
I Sorted Through 5 Rolls To Get Those. However, Most Were In The MS 63-MS64 Range. I Only Have 2 MS65, And Nothing Better In The Peg Legs.
