Lewis & Clark C&C Stamps

I did a search on the stamp forum for" Lewis Clark" and got no hits.

What I am looking for is if the two stamps featuring Lewis and Clack individually were released by the PO. I ask because I am down there (P.O.)about twice a week and have never seen these stamps.

As for the coin gestapo the sets do come with coinsimage

Thanks, Mike

  • I checked my P.O. in suburban D.C. two weeks ago. They said they only had them in for a few days, they didn't get many of them, and didn't know whether to expect any more. So I asked,

"Could I have the ones in the display case?"

    "NO!"

  • I got a couple of LC sheets last wk. at post office just for kicks - what stamps are you talking about? USPS also has a special LC set with a booklet, etc.

I think they're pretty cool. I bought 2 sheets and used one.

The stamps with the Lewis and Clark Portraits only come in the special "Prestige Booklet", priced at $8.95 (for which you get $7.40 face value in stamps). Available from Kansas City via USPS' website (add another dollar for handling on the order).

I do like the stamp with them both on it but no luck with the individual portraits. The tellers never heard of them.

    I'll try the PO site.

    Thanks all, Mike

Asked at the PO today, they are all out. They only ever had the ones relayer showed above, not the individual ones.

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.
