Another thief on E-Bay

Check out the card I bought and the one I received. I'm only out $5 but this is very, very sad. Another example of the scum stealing from the true collectors. I bought this from "ractsrd" on E-Bay who has a rating of 1460. Be your own judge.

Regards,

The card you "purchased" looks like its in a PSA holder... I am guessing his auction said nothing about being graded? That might have been your first clue even before bidding

    Hi Greg,

You were screwed. Can you post a link to the auction? I want to see what kind of double talk this guy put in the write up that would give him the cajones to send you the nice card's ugly sister.

    Bob

P.S. An observation. The nice card's picture is 36 KB and the ugly card's picture is 34 KB. If you just add 2 KB to the ugly card's picture, would it turn into the nice card? A bit metaphysical, but worth a try.

Didn't catch that - I see the ridge at the top now. I guess I just expect people to be honest. Maybe the auction should have been written as such:

Up for sale I have a beautiful Pat Summerall card that appears to have been washed while in the back pocket of a young child's pant pocket. In the meantime, please enjoy the attached picture of Pat Summerall in the type of condition that you can only dream of when buying our cards.

    Summerall Auction

Any card is gradeable. Even the one I shot BB's through as a kid!!

  • Interesting that they scammed for $5, rather than save their reputation for a high value switch-a-roo.

    Greg,

Give him the negative feedback that he deserves. Don't even bother to contact him for a refund - it's not worth it for what you paid. He probably gets away with this a lot because the cards don't sell for much.

the sellers an idiot.. but.. his description states "excellent" condition, corners with wear.. whereas the card pictured looks like a solid 8..

You don't accidently scan a graded card and crop it down to look ungraded....and then send the wrong card. That person is a crook in my book.

Exactly. Pretty amazing that someone would risk their rep on a $5 card, but there you have it. Unless it said in the auction something along the lines of "the card pictured is in no way, shape, or form, the card you are bidding on. They are from the same year, and made by the same company, but you will be receiving something totally different if you win", then you were ripped.

Ditto all of the above - 7 negs & 8 neutrals in the last 30 days, ripping off buyers for low dollar cards - this guy is unabashedly scum. Give him the neg he so richly deserves!

"Four great corners with wear" - what's that???

He is a five dollar artist. He ran a $5 grab bag auction for months, supposedly liquidating a 59 Topps set. I think he was mostly liquidating a couple thousand crummy commons. I got burned back in March and will not buy from him again. Looks like people are getting tired of him.

I have watched some of his auctions since I'm putting together the 59 set.
Shied away after seeing some of the feedback.

Blast him with negs as some already have and hopefully others will get the message.
