Question for Roosie collectors about FB...

I submitted a couple of Roosies for Desig. Review. The '81D MS67 came back FB. The '49D MS67 didn't get the FB (worth the try I believe, it was close).

I'm curious, was it worth the cost? What's the price difference between the FB/Non-FB?

Thanks.
Dan

The 81-D is very easy to make, but 67FB is good

The 49-D is also easy, but also necessary for the set, so you can't go wrong with either one.

Difference in price maybe $20 -$30, between FB and non FB

    I don't buy slabs I make them
  • I'd rather not submit them for slabbing, but buy them already slabbed, it cost less.

    Thanks!

These were coins already graded. I am going to be submitting a couple of raw 1956 Roosies from an original roll that I have high hopes for.

1956-P Rosy's in FB are nice. But I will say that its not financially worth it if the coins do not grade MS66 or better.....consider a $16 submission + some shipping or about $18-20. I don't think you can get that for a MS65FB. Probably for a MS66FB and more like $500+ for a MS67FB. So if you have good solid MS66FB coins and think they have a shot at MS67FB - they're worth submitting.

I've made 4 of the pop7 1956-P MS67FB dimes (3 toned, 1 white) - its a tough to make coin w bands! Best of luck!

If you have a nice MS66, 67, or 68 Roosie, it is well worth sending them in to get the designation, no matter what the year.

  • I think 81-D is probably the easiest date in the 1980's to make in 67 and the commonest fb er from the 80's as well.
