Just got my first Dahlonega Gold!

I bought my first Dahlonega gold piece this weekend at the Baltimore
show from 'Dahlonega'. 1844-D in a PCGS VF30 slab. Sorry for the
inferior scans, the coin is nicer than it looks here. Thanks for the nice
coin David!

Congrats Rob, anything from Dahlonega or Charlotte is a nice addition to your collection.

Agree, but anything from "Dahlonega" is most assuredly original, with above average eye appeal, and solid for the grade. I bought my first Dahlonega coin from David, as well. Nice pick-up!

Congradulations. Its a very rich part of our history. If you ever get a chance, get out to Dahlonega, GA. There is alot of history to see in person. Very much worthwhile , and it will supplement your collecting enjoyment.

My sister moved to Dahlonega; I've been out to see her twice. That is
what was driving me to want to get an example for my set.

Cool! Now you just have to get to the old Dahlonega mint. They have a complete set of condition census gold there, and it's a sight to behold!

Congrats! Before I die, I want to get both a Dahlonega and Charlotte coin. Especially since both mints are within 4 hours of me. image My nephew even got a speck of gold from the reed gold mine a couple of weeks ago.

I really would like to add a nineteenth century D mint gold as well as a C mint gold to my collection.

    One day!!

    Nice coin by the way.

So what exactly is "condition census" gold?

    thanks!

Yes, I agree that the coin display at the mint is fantastic. I went
there on my first trip to see my sister and was well worth it. I now
have been to every mint except Charlotte and West Point.
