1921 Morgan Cracked?

Trying to figure out this crack on the Morgan and to see if it's worth more than just $8.

Looks like a planchet defect, which won't add to the price. Also looks like there's some PVC, which will take away from the price...

Does the crack go through the edge of the planchet? For Morgans, cracked planchets bring a premium.

I'm fairly new to collecting, so the dictionary says the planchet is the actual chunk of metal that was made to be this coin.

The question was does the crack go to the edge of the planchet, and by this I'm assuming that you want to know if the crack goes all the way to the outside rim of the coin. It does not -- The crack starts at the hairline directly above Ms. Libertys eye (thus on the top left of her head) and extends to the first "star" under the E. at the 9 o'clock position.

$20 for it? May take it! If everyone says it's worthless and you want to offer $20 for it by all means.....

Lamination probably...nice error, but common on Morgans. Probably worth the $20 Rob is offering.

A lamination is impure metal mixing in the plachet. Defective in other words. Huge laminations would be worth some bucks.
