Watching the futures game...ZZZZZZZZZZZZ.........

Aside from a few good pitching performances, this game has been absolutely pathetic.

I was expecting to see some good things from young stars like David Wright, Delmon Young, Felix Pie, and Dallas McPherson. But honestly, it's been pretty disappointing. Upton and Jeff Francis look like locks to be good players in the majors, but the rest look like free-swingers who need a lot of work.

If was buying Delmon Young Gold Refractors for $500 and David Wright Gold Refractors for $250, I would be sweating prefusely right now...Anybody else have any thought?

Based on one game, against the supposed best pitchers in the minors! I think you are here to cause trouble.

  • What i took from the game: buy Jose Capellan and Matt Cain.

Capellan looks like Kerry Wood when he first came up, throwing 98 MPH without giving any effort, and being around the plate also.

Cain's line will look bad because he gave up two walks and a misplayed double (Majewski should've had it), but he reminded me of Mark Prior type stuff, and he is in AA at 19 years old.

I think most of the hitters were swinging for the fences, and each pitcher only threw one inning, so the pitchers clearly had an advantage. After seeing Prince Fielder's wild swing, I'd stay away there, reminds me of Randall Simon's helicopter swing, although Vlad Guerrero can get away with swinging his hardest. Not really enough at bats to tell if the hitters are legit or not, but I did like Jeremy Reed's swing, looks very fluid and you can see why he never strikes out. I enjoyed seeing the guys I have bought a bunch of, it's nice to put the ability with the stats.

I agree with the Jeff Francis observation, he has a strange almost Dontrelle type delivery, but everything he throws has movement.
