If you are of a faint heart you may want to skip this thread. You (hopefully) know that you are not suppose to leave children and pets in a car with your window rolled up on a hot day, right?
But did you ever wonder what would happen to your slabs, which to some of you (and we know who you are) are like your children?
Answer to this disturbing question lies below.
A dealar whose name will not be revealed to protect his identity, left a case with several slabs inside his car on a very hot day. How did the poor little slabs interacted with hot temperature inside the vehicle?
Not good to put it mildly.

I was able to rescure this one at a modest price. It's 1922 peace MS63. This one is in a better shape than others, most of which were since reslabbed. The thing is this coin was blast white before "the incident" has occured.
In a dramatic fashion I was told that ANACS slabs actually exploded from the extreme heat inside the car and a poor dealer suffered burns to his fingers as he was trying to touch the hot slabs.
SO PLEASE DON'T LEAVE YOUR SLABS INSIDE A CAR ON A HOT DAY
This thread is somewhat funny and on a funny note when I showed this slab to a couple of members in Baltimore they were trying to pray it open thinking it's some new type of slab caddy.

The preceeding was a public service anouncement brought to you by Lincoln Cent Coins.
I live in phoenix, and just for kicks I went out just now and checked the inside temp of my van,,, windows cracked 1' and shaded, 173.2 F Of course out side is 112 and the UV is off the scale (you can feel it burn in about 30 seconds). Cassettes, glasses, lighters(pop not boom), and watches are a few other things that are tossed out on a regular basis in these parts.
That's incredible!
<< <i>It's 4:45.... do you know where your slabs are?
