Do you ever find yourself talking too much about coins?

I've known people that were so talkative about their own interests (bowling, money, women, scientific research...) that it was unpleasant to be around them. Some people just aren't able to sense when they are being annoying!
Anyway, I try not to talk about coins too much with my friends. I let them ask me questions, and then I give concise answers. This (hopefully) has prevented anyone from thinking of me as always wanting to dominate the conversation.
I'm just curious. Are you careful regarding the amount of time you spend discussing coins? Not just for security reasons, but because you don't want to bore others?

I figure I'll usually bore them anyway--once I get to saying anything that only my mind can (sometimes) understand, I start mumbling to get out of it... if I talk about coins, no mumbling
had no pole (so what?)
was R-7 with 13-20 specimens known
one of the very few slab-able circulated no poles
is one of the most famous rarities in the entire US coin series.

<< <i>That's something, Rays! I'd want to talk about that, too. Do you have a scan of it?

My wife has said that about me too. I have learned that there are good times and bad times to talk about coins. The bad times usually end up with the above statement to be true. But most of time when I talk to my wife about coins it is very productive and good.
I don't believe the average person thinks about coins other than as a financial medium and really couldn't care a squat about a rare coin.
If someone actually opens the subject up, I'll answer as accurately as possible without going into a long diatribe about my hobby.
Just the way I am.
My girlfriend has learned to stop asking me.

Most people I know arn't realy interested in coins so they ask how's the collection going, but as soon as you start to tell them they get bored. And the only time they show any real interest is when they want you to tell them how much some junk coin they found is worth.
I wont talk to them about coins if they wont talk to me about golf. I would rather chase little coins than little balls !!!!
Looking for 1967 PCGS/NGC slabbed coins.
Rays, SUPER half cent!, but at 13 -20 known it is an R-6 not an R-7. (Number that are slabbable could be R-7 but copper specialists usually really don't care about that. Most would rather it not be slabbed.)
Shoot, my incessant chatter turned off the folks at the eBay coin board, and they WERE coinpeople! I had to learn to shut up a little, post less and read more, but it was a good lesson, and I learned some stuff from the people there. That chatboard is WAY too slow, though.
The CU forums rock. Thank you to the folks who provide it for us.
