During a search this evening I noticed that Heritage is offering some Monster quality early proofs. The lots include a 1938 PCGS PR68, 1939 Rev. 38 PCGS PR68, 1941 PCGS PR67 and 1942 Type 1&2 PR68's, one PCGS and one NGC.
The auction date is July 20th and the pictures alone are worth a look even if you don't plan on bidding. The coins aren't ordinary brilliant proofs, the 1939 in particular has nice color. Any idea who the consignor might be??

that was my favorite along with the one 1942. any idea who the seller might be?? regarding PR68 early Jeffs, they really are a tough coin so the owner should be in a select group and the biddng should be fast paced.

is that the same 1942 that's gone begging at around $6K?? i think time will prove that to be a good enough price but it'll probably never make it that high in the current day. my 1940 NGC PR65 pictured below is the closest i've been able to locate in the pre-1950 dates with any appreciable two-sided cameo. it's not blue as the picture indicates and needed help after it came out of the SEGS PR64CAM holder. i'm hoping to be able to show it to HRH in Pittsburgh for an opinion.
