Seated quarter experts, I need some advice...

on THIS SEATED QUARTER on ebay. Do you
think it's reasonably priced? What do you think of the toning? How common is an 1877 in this condition?

Thanks image

I'd be careful, not that I'm a Seated Quarter expert, but for $199 with a lousy pic. I'm leery.

Do you need a 1877? I got a 1891-S PCGS AU58 that's all original that I'll sell you for less than that -- if you're interested.

Common, bid to more than I would pay for a raw one based on a crummy picture and not seeing the reverse.
    I'm not a expert though.

Personally, I don't bid on coins offered raw on ebay that do not have clear photos and from sellers who don't offer a reasonable return...period.

The coin may be a fine coin, but I sure can't tell from the pic posted. Of course, some of us would actually like to see the reverse of the coin as well.

Susan, while the image is lousy, my guess is that the coin has retoned from a cleaning or was (intentionally) artificially toned. In any event I'd avoid it.

The halos around the stars make me think the coin has been cleaned. Pass.

By the way, 200-250 should get you a nice AU-55 or so Seated Qtr. Common date, but with natural surfaces and eye appeal.
