I went through the drive through at a Mcdonalds today and received a Canadian penny that I've never seen before. It is a centenial version of something, 1867-1967 and has a bird on the reverse instaed of the maple leaves. First one of this variety for me. What is the centenial this represents?

The 100th year of Canadian Confederation. All their coinage had special designs for this year.

funny you should find that penny, I went thru my junk boxes and found a few toned 1867-1967 Canadian Quarters today that I didn't remember ever seeing before ~ very cool find for the circulated set indeed!
