Don't Laugh........but I just started a set for my boy

Linky
I occasionally pick up a neat type coin here and there for him and he has had members send him items too. All of the coins in the set are his and there's even an MS65RED photosealed indian that he received as a gift that I have yet to add!

check it out. If you have any inexpensive stuff for it, pm me and I'll run it by him.image

also, check out his POP1!!! LOL

LOL! I can't afford to pick stuff up for all of them! They can stick to playing with baby dolls and whatnot!image
  • Pretty cool, I'll see what I can find to help out your set.

goose! Aren't you going a little too fast for him? He is only 6 years old??????????

I hope you are helping him concentrate on lincoln cents, Jeff nickels that he has the satisfaction of finding from circulation and putting into blue Whitman folders?

The set has to be his and his alone. He will derive most satisfaction from acquiring the coins with minimal help from you. Now if this is a College Fund set then my comments do not apply!

Otherwise, he will someday also throw those cents, nickes and dimes into the street that other teens now do!!!!!!image

Good luck! I failed in getting my daughter interested in coins! The boys were more interesting to her!!!!!

he has a couple of cigar boxes of raw and odd stuff that many generous members have sent and that dealers at shows have even given him!

The next show I take him to, I will pick up some whitman folders for him. That probably would be fun for him!
  • My first is due in 7 weeks; I have been contemplating starting a 1904 set for him
(Going back 100 years; same logic as I have for 1872). Hopefully he will be
interested in the set for more than just the value of it.
