I got my 2004 Mint Sets including the state quarters from the Mint yesterday. They look terrific. Clean fields, no hits, great strikes.

Did I get lucky? How have yours looked?

  • I hope my sets get here today, I ordered a bunch. I always look forward to getting the mint sets, one of my favorite Mint products.

  • I received (3) sets and they are the best I've received since I started purchasing from the Mint. Was it just luck or is the Mint trying to improve quality. imageimage

  • I received the two sets from (my subscription) this past Saturday. One set was as you described (very nice), and the other set had a couple of coins with contact marks. A definite improvement compared to past releases.

The new sets are fine. How does everyones 2004-P Peace Nickel look? My 2004 - P Jeff with the boat is a solid MS67 borderline 68 but my 04-P Peace Jeff is a 63. The Peace jeffs were horrible.

Looks like some nice coins. None for me though--- I spent all my money on those 'special' L&C coin and currency sets! (the ones with all of those 'matte' finish coins!)

Based on the 2003 sets I purchased, I would say yes. After the garbage I received last year, I don't know if I will get any this year.

    Congrats!

    Careful what you wish for.

  • Wow, your lucky. I have a subscription for 10 sets. The mint sent me emails, credit card authorized this more times than I can count, and still no mint sets!!!! Called the mint, they say their in the warehouse getting ready to ship but they can't say for sure when they will go out. This probably means that your sets are very nice but the 1's I will get will be poor, like last years (but I hope not)!!!
Hey cosmicdebris, that's a very nice nickel!!!

Interesting! Perhaps the peace design will be scarce in high grade even with millions of people looking for them.
