Fantasy Coins. Large Cent Struck on a Walking Liberty half?!

It's a Gallery Mint "after hours" recreation. The U.S. Mint used to privately strike bizzare coins/mules on it's own. I guess that practice is frowned upon nowadays. . .

If I had access to the Gallery Mint equipment, I'd be having some fun, too...

I'd buy that "medal" for $20 in a heartbeat. I like it! image

Since when was there such a grade as "MS-50"?

I've seen many of these fantasy Gallery Mint strikes on eBay recently. All of them seem to be on the 1793 dated issues and were apparently struck to order. I suspect they have discontinued making this type of item...thankfully.

That's very funny. Even the US mint, no matter how much they messed up, could not have done this (i.e. would have required using a rusty 70 year old large cent die to do, even if it still existed).

That's bizarro. Especially the fact that it's in a slab, and "MS50".
