T-207 cards: raw and graded

We always wonder how much stuff is in the Registry and how much is out there raw. In this month's "Vintage Baseball Collector" the author of an article on T-207's describes finding 1,112 graded cards and 5,716 ungraded cards. That's a 5 - 1 ratio. He doesn't break down condition [I would think most of the better cards got graded].

Are there really that many raw cards out there for other sets? Just searching on EBAY for one year, I found 345 graded 1957 Topps cards and 2215 ungraded. As expected, most of the raw cards are not high grade.

Any guesses as to how many high grade raw vintage cards are floating around?

Frank, there are exactly 812 high grade raw vinatage cards still out there. They will all be sold within the next 3 months and then there will be nothing left for us to do except look to ebay and pay ridiculous prices! image

Seriously, I still seem to find good raw stuff at small local shops/shows, ebay (yes, even ebay), and through dealer websites. It hasn't dried up yet, but it is getting harder. I bought this one for about $50 in a shop last year and got it graded a few months ago. I was pretty happy with the result!

That's a nice coin Jeb. One on EBAY went for several hundered bucks recently in PSA 9.
