The Numismatic Bibliomania Society promotes the use and collecting of numismatic literature. There is a small, but avid group of collectors that focus on coin collecting books, auction catalogs, and periodicals. And I'm not talking about the large Heritage Signature catalogs or the Coin World publications (though they qualify). I'm talking about old and/or rare writings that give insight into the hobby.
Actually, Condor101 might be a member. Drop him a PM.
I'm a (fairly recent) member of the NBS, which, as Shamika said, promotes the collecting, use and creastion of numismatic literature.
Perhaps the greatest benefit the NBS offers is the FREE weekly e-mail, The E-Sylum, which is full of tidbits - new numismatic books, research requests, etc. etc. Their subscribers include the who's who of numismatics and many of them will reply if you ask a question via The E-Sylum. For example, say you need a copy of a specific page of a 1955 auction catalog, or, as I did, you need a copy of a 1977 article from the Numismatic Scrapbook - I got two copies, including one from the author! (who was also gracious enough to answer some follow-on questions)
The NBS also publishes a quarterly journal, The Asylum, which has articles on numismatic literature, research and researchers.
Best of all, annual membership is only $15!
Check out their website! Subscribe to The E-Sylum! Join the NBS!!
I'm a member of the weekly E-sylum e-mail list but not the NBS itself. Only because of procrastination though. The membership is cheap and I am sure I would really like getting The Asylum. I know every time I hear what the articles are going to be for each issue I say to myself "I've got to get my membership sent off.". Then I get distracted and forget about it until the following Monday when I get the next E-sylum.

I just don't remember whom.
