Got Grades -- Is PCGS Insane??

1 21619850 1976-S $1 Clad Type 2 USA PR69DC Got this one right
2 21619851 1976-S 25C Clad USA PR69DC Another easy one

1 21619250 1968-S 5C USA PR68DC That's a suprise
2 21619251 1981-S 1C Type 2 USA PR68DC Thought this was a 66/67 DCAM
3 21619252 1971-S S$1 Silver USA PR69DC Thought this would go 68DCAM
4 21619253 1973-S 50C USA PR69CA Actually this maybe right

1 21619811 1973-S $1 Clad USA PR69CA No brainer DCAM Better than the 73 Clad in my set that is a 69DCAM
1 21619812 1973-S $1 Clad USA PR69CA No brainer DCAM Better than the 73 Clad in my set that is a 69DCAM
2 21619813 1973-S 1C USA PR67DC This one's nicer than the 81-S Type II Lincoln

Oh, well, they were all freebies so it isn't like I spent $$ on the grading fees. So I guess I got what I paid for!!!

Funny, the coins you think are going to come back low end up being better than you thought and the coins you think are a lock end up s*cking. Hmmmm.....

At least I can use the 81-S Type II Lincoln for my sets until I can find a 69DCAM.

I'll have to post pics of these coins once I get them back and let everyone decide if they are DCAM or CAM.

Fratt - Before you even post any pictures, be aware that very few 1973(s) Clad Ikes come with (2) sided solid DCAM surfaces in true PR69 grade. Generally, the reverse displays far weaker cameo contrast (not to mention the challenge of locating a truly clean PR69). How are your reverses? Additionally, it is not uncommon to have breaks in the DCAM contrast, which on a "bad grading day" could easily get the coins to grade only CAM instead of DCAM. Overall, the 1973-1976 Ty 1 Clad Ikes are exceeding tough to locate in superb quality PR69DCAM+ - IMHO pops are meaningless if you are searching for a true high end monster DCAM coin of these clad years.

76 Clad Ty 2 and 77-78 clads are easiest to find nice and when you do stumble across a MONSTER DCAM PR69DCAM 1978(s) Clad for example it is a sight to behold! image
