Not too much of a surprise... it's actually over $400 less than the last one that ended about a month ago... that trend downward should continue for a couple years as more of these get graded (only aboyt 25% of the total print run has been slabbed).
No, it really wasn't a surprise. There are enough people putting together 93 Refractor sets that a bidding war insues on the highest graded version of the most valuable card in the set. My $2200 snipe didn't even get a chance to fire. Oh well, its probably for the best anyway. The last one went for $3500+, this one at $3000+, the next one will probably fall in the $2700-3000 range, and so on until a PSA 10 is graded or there are enough PSA 9's to satisfy the demand. In the here and now, these are going to stay expensive.
