how thick of cards will PSA grade?

I have a few game used cards that I want to grade and I was wondering if they will grade them or if they're too thick? For example, I have a 2001 donruss elite face to face card that has game used facemask on it, is this too thick? any help is apreciated. Thanks

Josh
The world meets no one half way. If you want it you have to go get it.

  • I called up PSA last year and asked this same question. I had some SP Authentic GU football cards which are very thick that I wanted graded. I was told that they would try to squeeze the card into the holderimage
If it didn't fit than they wouldn't holder it. I didn't like that response so I've kept them ungraded until they come up with a proper holder.
To be safe, if it's thicker than a normal card, assume they won't holder it.

Check out my response on another thread "Will PSA Grade Exquisite"

Usually anything over 55pt is out of the question. I do have a BGS 9.5 Tim Brown Piece of the Game jersey card that's pretty thick. I know BGS & SGC both did UD Graded and those are around 55pt I think. I know PSA does SPx and SP Game Used jerseys. So that's what I'm basing my 55pt statement on.
