eBay auction quoting wrong POP numbers

rlawsharlawsha Posts: 1,033 ✭✭✭
Here is a LINK to an eBay auction for a 1982 NO P Dime. While everything looks pretty good on this auction the seller says: THIS IS A VERY RARE COIN IN THIS GRADE- NONE HIGHER. The fact of the matter is there are some higher. I emailed the seller telling him that the PCGS POP report lists 4 graded at MS68. Not to mention the FB MS67's. The seller did not answer my email nor did he change the auction. How misleading do you think this is?

To top it off the current Coin World price guide (Trends) has this coin at $800 not the $1500 quoted by the seller.

The coin is listed on the PCGS price guide as $1,500. with no pricing for higher grades.

So he is using the PCGS price guide and saying it "trends" for $1500. hmmmm Since the seller saw no higher prices in the guide he assumed there were none graded higher..... I guess. Still, a somewhat misleading auction for those that are serious about POP numbers and accuracy.

He may not have online pop report access, so is using an older bound version. Pops have been very dynamic recently.
