Digging for a Mantle RC

I would imagine it's not the only one that was put into something and "buried" at some point in time. Never thought about just digging up the yard to find cards. image

  • Sad thing is, ground moisture probably destroyed that card years ago! image

This story sounds a bit fishy. In 1955, Mickey was considered a flash in the pan? And the card stashed just happens to be a 52T? Plus, it's not even his rookie card. Nice journalism they practice up in Canada, eh?

I'm sure there are some buried Mantle RCs out there, but unless they were hermetically sealed and stored under Funk & Wagnall's Porch, I doubt any of them survive to this day.

The best bet would still be grandpa's attic. However, I do remember reading somewhere (was it here?) about a kid who, in 1960, dropped his Yaz rookie down a window slot in his dad's car, and who always wondered whatever happened to it.

So there literally could be such treasures ANYWHERE.
