UD Exquisite Case......

Ok all......I recently purchased a case of UD Exquisite (I have to.....I got a really good deal). I have had it for about 2 weeks now debating if I should open it or sell it, and thoughts? I wanted to check the market and after reading all the horror stories it seems like there is no chance in hell you are getting your money back if you crack them....what do you guys think?

  • I posted the same exact question a few weeks back, but it was only 1 box. They talked me into it. I had no problem with that though. It really was fun, and my blood was pumping. I would open one box at a time. If you get a really good card, sell the other 2. They say that each case has at least one big card. Keep opening until you hit it, if you can afford it. It was alot of fun. I only netted about $150 from my one box, but there have been some BIG success stories. The Lebron/Jordan Log Man 1/1 is still in one of these cases from what most believe. It hasn't surfaced yet. It would bring about $40-$70k in my opinion. Let us know, and please decide quickly. Hurry!!

If you can afford it, do it. You'll at least have fun. Everbody would want to know what you get. Good luck!

7 MVP awards, the single season HR record, career walks record, single season walks record, 700HR/500SB, and two batting titles near 40 years old. How can one argue that those aren't stats of the greatest to ever play the game??? All this and there is still more to come!!!! Bonds:2005 NL MVP. Or are you going to doubt him again?
  • Thanks Roach.....it is just sitting here looking at me....I may do it after lunch, any other opinions?

open it and post all the results here on this message board! Thanks!

You must open it now and open it here in front of all of us. This stuff is red hot now and if you
wait then you might lose out. I would open until you make a big hit and then sell what is left.

    Good Luck

  • what are they going for on ebay?? I paid $1449.99 for the case....
  • NBAFanNBAFan Posts: 744
Yeah, the longer you wait, the less you will make. Either sell it or bust it, either way, do it soon before the hype is over.
  • NBAFanNBAFan Posts: 744
There are a couple on right now that are at 1000, and one is at 1800. Some have BIN for 2000 that aren't being touched.

Personally, if I bought the case, I would bust one box like Roach said. If you hit something big then stop, otherwise bust the others, but that is me. When I buy something, I don't like to sit around and keep it sealed, I am going to bust it open.
  • I was thinking about busting one box and selling the others, what do you guys think I could get for the others?? Will it be less because it it still not a "fresh" case and one box was opened?
  • NBAFanNBAFan Posts: 744
It depends, no matter what after you bust open a case the value has went down a little.
  • After numerous talks with my wife....I have decided..........to...........................
  • Sell it.....Any takers here?
  • jrdolanjrdolan Posts: 2,549 ✭✭
Well, if I was buying this stuff I would figure that a non-dealer who's selling 1 or 2 boxes is doing so because he bought a case and already hit paydirt. Don't know what percentage of people looking for this product would figure that out.
  • That is exactally what i was thinking...and the main reason I have decided to sell.....I want to know what was pulled though when it is opeded.
  • NBAFanNBAFan Posts: 744
And when that Jordan/James is pulled from your case and sells for over $30,000 then I'm sure your wife will be yelling at you because you gave away all that money and then she'll be wanting a divorce.

Is it a sealed case? If so, you got a nice price on it. What are you looking to get for it now?
    image
  • I have been told they are going in the $1800 range....
  • It is true about the single boxes, but they are still selling like hot cakes on Ebay. Single boxes are always selling. Not everyone thinks that the "hot pack" was already found. boxes are going off at 4650 or so a box. Check it out. Open a box, hit the paydirt card, sell the other 2 boxes. It's not guaranteed that there won't be anything else in the other boxes, it just seems that way from what others have said. Trust me - you will not have trouble getting $650 or more for each box on Ebay if you decide to take that route.

The Logo Man 1/1 IS IN YOUR CASE!!! I can sense it....

Just picture getting an email titled "Thank You" from the person who buys it from you. Inside, the email states that they pulled the 1/1 Logo Man Lebron/Jordan, or a nice Lebron Auto/23. Or a Jordan Auto/23. There are other good cards that haven't surfaced.

<< <i>Check it out. Open a box, hit the paydirt card, sell the other 2 boxes >>

What happens if he opens the first box, gets nothing, and the same for the second box? I have seen some pretty weak box breaks, but there seems to be one "money" card per case.
    image
  • That is what I am afraid of, I collect Lebron and MJ and have never pulled an auto of either, all my cards were bought for a pretty penny. I know I will not choose the correct box if I open just one....and if I start, I will NOT be able to stop.
  • I still like the 1:3 odds. Something tells me that you would be happy. Enough screwing around, just do what it is that you want to do....OPEN THEM. I smell an MJ Auto or low #'d jersey to be quite honest.

  • If you guys will honestly buy them from me if I get crapped on I will do it.
  • Actually, I was kidding. If you did crapped on the first 2, why would you sell the 3rd, knowing that it has the $$$$ card? I'm not sure that I would believe that you got crapped on the first 2 boxes, ya know? No offense though. Trust is a big factor when shelling out $800 a box.

Yeah, open them until you find the "hot" box, then sell the cold depleted boxes to unknowing suckers on eBay. Great advice.

No such details will spoil my plans...

Joe, where do you think all of the other boxes on Ebay come from? Not defending the concept, but that is reality...especially with this product. The nature of this product almost requires you to buy a sealed case.
    image
  • Are there is always the possibility that more then one box could be HOT.....i just do not know guys...

Yeah, get real. I even bought one off Ebay. Like I said, there is no written guarantee anywhere on the boxes that states that there is "only one big $$$ card in each case", but that's the way it looks. I have seen case break results on the Beckett Boards that did indeed have 2 or 3 big cards in a case, but it's not too often. It's very possible to get a Lebron or Melo RC Patch/Auto in one box, and then pull a big insert in another box. When stores watch a huge card ( maybe a case card for example ) get pulled out of a pack, should they feel obligated to pull the rest off the shelves? That would be ridiculous thinking. I do see what you are saying Allen, but it's not commonplace. What if a fresh box was opened in a store, you bought one pack and pulled the case card? Would you buy the rest of the packs? Would you suggest to the owner of the shop that they put some kind of not on the box stating that the case card was already pulled? Would you even suggest it? Nah. There may be stated odds, but nobody really knows what is inside each sealed box at any time. Odds schmodds. If he sold the other 2 boxes, he'd just be selling dreams like Upper Deck sold to us in the first place. Supply and Demand.

Right on target! Unless UD or God comes down and tells us, all evidence on the theory of hot packs in a case of three is strictly anecdotal IMO.
