Triple SSS Sportscards

Anyone had any dealings with Mike or Mark recently?

I have sent them 6 emails in the last 2 weeks and have not gotten a response.

Also, their new website has some bugs as their shopping cart checkout will not work.

Thanks!

I've had good transactions with them - but have not had any recent dealings with them. One or two inquiries I made to them via e-mail went unanswered - although I fully understand telephone is probably the best way to reach them....

I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.
  • I have ordered from their web site a few of times since it went up; as it turns out it's not for ordering but letting them know what you want. They review your order then contact you about availability and cost (in my case twice by email and once by phone). I don't know if they plan to give purchasers actual ordering capability; I am assuming it is not online and interactive with their inventory database. I have been pleased with the service to date. FYI there phone number is 586.532.7581.

  • They were at the Chicago show a couple of weeks ago and noted they still had a few bugs with the website (it has only been up and running for just a couple of weeks).

I, also, would just call them.

I also sent them an email looking for a couple scans that went unanswered. I have had positive experiences buying from them on ebay and think they are top notch , no success with the new website. I personnally hope they go to credit cards with the site so that you can click ,pay , and complete the transaction all at once.

What is their website? I have not received any correspondence from them regarding the website being up. I would like to check out their inventory and their $500 commons from 1962.

  • Thanks guys for the info.

I will call them later today to see whats going on.

I believe that their website is: www.triplesssinc.com.

Their site take a while to download all of the inventory so you have to be patient.

I have a good history with the Skerbes, but yeah their email response time is slow. Make sure you don't get Mike & Mark Skerbe (Triple SSS) mixed up with Dennis Skerbe (sss2), which I have done.

I love the Triple SSS new Web site; the search function works very fast. I haven't tried to purchase and check out, though.

I bought several cards from them at the SportsFest in Chicago several weeks ago. They have very reasonable prices. I called them last Friday regarding a card I was interested in and received an e-mail w/ scan attached on Monday. I know their web site is new, but scans and the ability to pay by credit card or paypal would be preferred.

<< Make sure you don't get Mike & Mark Skerbe (Triple SSS) mixed up with Dennis Skerbe (sss2), which I have done. >>

What's the story on this? I remember seeing some negative threads on sss2 and I even made a note on my "seller watch list" but I didn't elaborate... so I'm not sure why he's on it.

Are the two Skerbe companies totally unrelated? Both with the same last name and both using sss in their company name?

Please fill me in (or PM me) as I have bought cards off of Mike & Mark (Triple sSs) , and have had nothing but good dealings with them. I just want to make sure I don't mix up my Skerbe's.

    Thanks

The fact that Dennis uses sss2 on eBay suggests that he is or was formerly connected to his bros at SSS. I have done much biz with Mike and Mark, only a couple times with Dennis, no bad experiences. Don't expect a response on or soon after a big show weekend!

One bad thing about the SSS web site: no scans. I hate that. Hopefully they are working on it for the future.

I have dealt with them and had good service. The website looks great. It takes forever to get the inventory to load. Given that there's no pictures, there's got to be a faster way to present the information.

They have a mailing list. Their catalog comes as a black & white spreadsheet.

I just received a couple of cards from them today. Put in an order through their website on the evening of 27 June, heard back from them on the 29th, mailed them a personal check the next day and got the package today. I'm pretty pleased with the cards and the efficiency of the deal.
