Can anyone give me info on this medal?

This is obviously from the U.S. Mint but I can not find any information on it. Metal? Mintage? image

    I believe these are solid bronze.

    They were made in a series starting in 1972 for the bicentennial with one each year
    until 1976. They were made in substantial quantities and are still easily found in sealed
    boxes. They wholesale at prices as low as $1.25 and a little more in the envelope. Mint-
    ages are likely in the 100,000 range but don't remember ever seeing the numbers.

    Yep, that's the one. Thanks - It's not mine but I was asked about it by my sister and I could not offer an answer.

    I supose it could be solid bronze but the surface color just doesn't look bronze.
    It's as though the mint made these and then forgot all about themimage
