AUCTION ONE:

AUCTION TWO:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=39472&item=3919963713&rd=1

"They" both registered the same day (today!), have the same type of photography skills and auction layout; both have the same terms and are offering the same type of coins with limited descriptions. The first Seller is from Arizona while the second Seller is from Illinois.

Smacks of some kind of highjinks to me.

    I'm with you, Pat.

I had added those items to my watch list, only moments ago. I plan to notify the winning bidders (and under-bidders) that they should proceed with extreme caution.image Of course, with the fine detectives here, I wouldn't be surprised if the sales are pulled before they are scheduled to close.

Their handles are alike too. The seperation between the names. Caveat emptor!
What is money, in reality, but dirty pieces of paper and metal upon which privilege is stamped?

I emailed him a question about the 1907 Saint from the 1923 Saint auction. Which by the way has a picture of a 1922 Saint in the auction description. If he replies and knows about the 1907, bingo! That'l be all the proof I need not to bid. Well, and also the fact that he is using a russion name and an asian name both separated by "_" and '0' feedback.

Although, these might be real coins he is selling and doesn't want to be tracked down. Were these coins on the list for the dealer that got robbed at the the coin show last week?

  • The auction listing and write up looks suspicious, but at least the slabs have different registry numbers.

I like how the second auction has the subtitle "NOT TO BID - BAD CHOICE"

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.

  • ...and all the shipping and payment info is in the item description... "ask a question"..that's it.

On the second auction I'm fairly certain I've seen that layout before. Not sure where exacly but the graphics could have been stolen from another seller.

The images look like the ones from the bogus High Relief listing. What was the site they were stolen from? I bet you could find these images there too.

The NGC64 and PCGS65 hi relief saint photos were taken from Stanford Coin and Bullion (www.goantiques.com). These look
EXACTLY like the same setup. Sure smells like a scam only instead of hijacking someone's account they went back to the motherland.
