You asked for it, you got it ... more pictures.
A couple of repeats, but it's amazing the difference a day makes.
Any changes in grade guesses using the "after" pictures?
1923-P Uncirculated Mercury
Before:
After: (die break on cap)
1926 Uncirculated Mercury
Before:
After: (hit in front of ear, die break on the cap, spot in reverse field is a break in the luster)
And just for Ken, the 25-P from the set which he wants to be Uncirculated, but is not.
Open to all comments.
Jeff
P.S. Before I get blasted for the dip job, I am not a proponent of dipping for the sake of dipping. However, in this case
I believe it was justified because:
1. The coins were ugly in their previous state.
2. I own the coins and can do as I please.
3. I am not trying to do this for financial gain - I plan to keep the coins

Sometimes a little dip is warranted. I have dipped Mercs before but just like you do not like to.
Ken
How do you dip and neutralize? In the long run dipping can damage the coin. What precautions do you take?

The 26P splotches on both sides were actually much worse than the "before" pictures showed. The "after" pictures are also a little grainy trying to capture the luster. Seeing the coin in hand, I would say some improvement, but not drastic. The splotches were very distracting, though. I think the 23P came through very well.
As far as dip technique - 4 second dip, 60 seconds in pure acetone, wash between fingers in soap in water, 60 more seconds in acetone, under running water for 30 seconds, pat dry.

that said I still will stick with my 63FB ...jmho!
the '26 did look much better prior to the wash - it is now a 62 imho!!! (fb )
the '25 is a AU55, maybe 58 if the grader had his 4th cup of coffee already
