1958 PCGS MS64 FS nickel on Ebay>>

I was looking at the listing at 5:00 am CT Monday morning. This nickel
had a starting bid of $4.95 and a BIN of $9.95. I was going to BIN
but it was Paypal only. I don't have Paypal. Someone else came
along just after 5:00 am and bid $4.95 on the coin. The $9.95 BIN
on this '58 (p) MS64 FS nickel was knocked off. I think the Ebay seller on
this coin really lucked out since this nickel will probably go for alot
higher than that. I think a.w. coins had one that went for over $100 just
recently. I think this same seller has a '57 (d) PCGS MS64 FS nickel with
a $9.95 BIN also. These are not my coins.

once the reserve is met the BIN goes away. Not sure what 1958 nickels are worth in ms64 full steps but I got tons of them in mint sets. mike image

    Mike,

If you have tons of them, I suggest getting them slabbed as there are only seven (7) higher than 64FS at PCGS (all of them 65FS). I need one and will be your first customer! Dave

I better take a look and see what I got! I could be richimage or I could be wrong about the dateimage. mike image

It is not uncommon to locate 1958(p) Jeffs with FS. What is uncommon is to find them grading above MS63FS. Downright scarce to find them grading TRUE MS65FS IMHO.

            Mike,

As always, tough to grade a picture but these all appear to be FS. But as Mitch stated, they are very tough to find above MS63FS. What do the obverses look like? The right coin in the two coin pic looks like it might have enough detail to not hurt the overall grade but mostly depends on the obverse. All the others (and again, just from what I can see on my monitor), I would drop a point or two from overall grade at least. But keep looking as I'm still interested! Thanks, Dave

I saw that coin on ebay. Thought about BIN, didn't realize how cheap that really was though. I also have some FS 1958's form some original rolls. No gems, not sure if I have some 64's but possibly. I'm just looking for a nice gem regardless of steps.
          • I disagree, as none of these nickels look like they would get Full Steps to me. Of the three bigger pictures, only the second one might have a chance as the first one has some weak spots on either side of the steps and the bottom one appears to have a slash through the bottom steps. The smaller pictures don't look great, but I can't be sure. 58P FS nickels are tough in any grade, the 58D is the easy one.
