A comparison of different lighting settings for toners.

Here are some images taken under different types of lighting. The white balance on each photo was set manually. The natuaral sunlight shots were done with a black background. I'll have to change that to a white background for a better comparison.
I like GE Reveal lighting the best for toners. It is pretty close to natural sunlight but brings out violets a little better. OTT lighting brings out yellows and greens almost a little too much. Obviously a coin looks different in different lighting settings and photographs differently as well.

Toners can be tough to photograph, especially if they are mirrored. I have found the GE Reveal bulbs or early morning sunlight to give me the truest images, it just depends on the coin.
