One more Merc for the night - a real nice 24-D FSB

One more nice Merc from the same set as the others...
Definitely uncirculated & FSB, hopefully MS-65 but possible 64. Still having trouble shooting the luster.
Any other opinions? (Mark on right reverse field is just a little streak of toning)

Looks 64 for sure and no question on the bands. The 24's were plagued with grainy planchets but this one looks smooth to me. It could 65 easily from what I see here.
Very Cool Merc.

Thanks! I thought about starting Mercs after I finished my Lincolns, but then this set came along and I had to pounce on it. Also bought an gorgeous uncirculated set of Washingtons. 32-D&S are probably MS-63, 34-D & 36-D are gems, I believe. It's made me have to put the skids on Lincoln spending.
Ken -
Thanks for the review. I trust your eye when it comes to Mercs and your comments have helped.

Nice dime - looks 63FB for sure from here - maybe 64 but doubt it! Nice strike for this one but too much chatter in the fields - then of course it is trully impossoible to really tell from a scan.

I am still trying to learn how to grade Unc mercs well. Where are you seeing chatter in the fields? I'd like to go back and compare the coin to the pics. Thanks again!
Jeff
I'll still stick with Great Shot at 65 from what I see.

I think you seeing the result of my poor photography. The two photos showing the complete obv & rev look a little grainy and definitely washed out from the lighting. Still trying to get my technique down. The only obvious mark I could find at 9X was a slight hit on the back of her jawbone, and that doesn't really come out in the photos. You guys are the experts, but I'm definitely rooting for Ken to be right! I'll let you know what it comes back as.

Wish a couple of the other Merc guys would jump in and say a few words about these. Not often do we get to see some fresh raw Merc Dimes.
I'm waiting for the 25P if it was a decent coin. A mint state one could get varied opinions...
