german swastika coin

i found a coin from my great grandpa's old collection that i recently got, that was obviously german WWII period. it is from 1938, it appears to be gold, but i cant be too sure, it has the symbol of a falcon or eagle woth it's wings spread and it is standing on an a swastika enclosed in a circle - on the obverse. on the reverse, it says 5 or 10 "reitchsphenig" or something. underneath those letters, it has the mint mark "A" or if that is something else, i dont know. i couldnt say, because it isnt right in front of me right now, and i wont be able to post a picture. it's about the size of a quarter. any identification hints would help. thanks.

Sounds like an aluminum-bronze 5 Reichspfennig (5 Reich pennys). Depending on condition worth a buck or so, maybe. The "A" mint was Berlin.

    The "A" mintmark is Berlin.

On KM#91 (5 Reichspfenig) the "5" on the reverse is large and clear, and on KM#92 the "10" is even larger. Both are aluminum-bronze, explaining the golden color. KM#91 is ~12.5mm across, and KM#92 is 21mm+. German coins of that era don't reach the U.S. quarter diameter of ~24mm until you get to the 2 Reichsmark denomination.

In 1941, 30 Reichspfennig would have bought you ½ liter of beer on the battleship Bismark, up until May 27th, when they closed the bar.
