Very nice specimen! I could appreciate crackin' that baby out and sendin' it to PCGS. On second thought, let PCGS crack it out. Ya just never know if they'll deem it AT.
What is money, in reality, but dirty pieces of paper and metal upon which privilege is stamped?

If PCGS cracks it, the graders won't know that it was cracked--they don't see it, so they could still deem it AT.
Then again, that coin is natural, and I see no reason it would be called AT. Keep it in the holder... it should stay there
First off I will not be cracking this coin out of anything. I really do not care to have NGC's opinion or any other 3rd party grading on the holder. I feel it is a strong 64 maybe higher maybe not, but really who cares it all about the coin and its colors. I really wanted to have a real nice example of a toned GSA in my collection and I think I got one.
JB: I have had this coin in my collection for some time now.
I know what you mean JB. You've seen one toned morgan you've seen them all.
No it has been in my hands for awhile and has not made any appearences that I don't know about. Now mayber it snuck out one night when I wasn't looking at it. I do tend to look the babies over every couple of days
TonedDollars: That's a very beautifully toned GSA Morgan !! It looks like Miss Liberty is smoking something with that white streak through the toning around her mouth
The nice thing about a GSA Morgan in the original holder is that you know that it's original (at least since the 1970's). When I purchase a PCGS Morgan, I always prefer to get one with the GSA designation to know that it's natural and unadulterated

That coin is really cool. I saw a nicely toned 1885 GSA recently. I'm contemplating purchasing the coin. I also would like to have a nicely toned GSA in my collection.

I like it! I'd send it off to NGC & get it graded in the original holder.

Very nice!
did you just get it?
why crack a GSA let alone a nicely toned GSA?

Thanks everyone for the kind words.

has it been at a coin show recently? It just has that familiar look to it. You know how all the toned coins look alike right?
