A reply from Pinnacle...

(This is up on the US Coin Forums, as well, but I noticed that there were some separate threads running here as well. Thanks, Scott)

We agree with those of you who don't like the way our banner ad is being displayed and we are in the process of redesigning it. Much as we would have preferred, we weren't able to see how the ad would look or function on the web page until it was already posted by CU.

We always want our marketing efforts to accurately reflect our business style. To this end, and as most of you already know, "hyper and flashy" is not our style. Our apologies to anyone who is opposed to advertising, per se, here, but we do wish to advertise on these forums. And, we hope that our ad will deliver the desired results, rather than upsetting a very important audience.

We are a niche business that specializes in servicing the numismatic industry's savviest collectors. Therefore, we were thrilled when CU offered us (along with a few other companies) the opportunity to advertise on their website - and especially on the U.S. Coin Forum, because it attracts so many knowledgeable, experienced and prominent collectors.

We appreciate the number of you who have been so vocally supportive of our company over the last 24 hours. We are truly grateful. We also wish to thank those of you who have posted constructive criticism in a professional manner. Be assured, those type of responses are taken VERY seriously by Pinnacle.

Pinnacle Rarities, Inc. recently lost an extremely valuable "representative voice" on these Forums in Mark Feld. But Mark (and many of you) have expressed the importance of dealers like ourselves actively participating on these Message Boards. Like most of our colleagues, we are in the midst of an extremely busy market environment. But all of the numismatists at Pinnacle have agreed to make a bigger effort at spending some time on the forums. We hope to learn more about the issues that are important to you and that our contributions will be helpful.
