Very Large Impulse Buy-It-Now

That's a Lot of Cards

I just made a very large impulse purchase - a lot of 33 graded T201s (graded by SGC). It fills in 12 of my 18 remaining spots, although 2 or 3 may eventually need an upgrade. Others (Baker/Collins, Lajoie) are potential upgrades of the PSA 4s that reside in my set. At some point, I'll get them all switched over to PSA and will sell the rest. I don't think I've ever been more nervous/excited about a purchase. I'll be back - gotta run to the can.

Good deal! With the prices realized on many of the PSA 5's that recently ended on Ebay - I don't know how you couldn't come out significantly ahead on this deal

I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.

    Gator -
If any of them cross to PSA 5 and you are planning
to sell them, please drop me a quick PM or e-mail
before you list them. I'm sure we can work out a

No such details will spoil my plans...
  • The PSA 5s are selling like crazy and I've had good success in crossing over a few SGC T201s to PSA.

Bill, I was going to contact you at some point to see if you needed any of the SGC 60s if they cross (some of which I will keep). You'll be happy to know that I thought of you in the precarious moments before hitting the buy-it-now button.

Dude - it's not as bad as it sounds.

  • OK - I just broke it down. Once crossed, I'll have 44 of the 50 in the set (40 at PSA 4+, the others I'll upgrade, no Cobb yet). This purchase will allow me tol add about 15 to my current set and will potentially upgrade 4 others (currently PSA 4s), including Collins/Baker and Lajoie/Falkenberg, to PSA 5s. I'm going to chart all the crosses and sales and will post them - along with my original estimates - once this long process is complete.

And the buyer's remorse quickly fades..............
