Pinnacle is like X-10. I'll never buy from them.

Remember all those X-10 popups? I swore I'd never buy anything from them for their intrusion into my face.
Same with Pinnacle. At home I have broadband, so I didn't notice. At work, I have dial-up, and there is a significant slowdown now. Pinnacle, you haven't made any friends here with your recent splash. Take heed of all the negative comments and do the right thing.

If you run a business isn't it you who decides what advertising you will allow and how its presented?
These websites are expensive to maintain and keep up.
You have to find ways to help keep the costs manageble.
While I agree with the spirit of your post, I think that you are being a bit severe with your decision. When the folks at Pinnacle find out how disturbing the banner ad is, I guarantee it will be pulled or modified. They are nice people and would not (purposely) do anything to hurt their reputation or aggravate collectors, be they clients or not.

totally......... Barry will be missing some of the best coins on the market by not using the good folks at Pinnacle.

It's not Pinnacle's fault you work in a cave for a stone age company.

<< <i>Barry so your gonna take your marbles and go home ! >>
I think he lost his marbles quite some time ago, MANOFCOINS...probably sometime around January 2003. That tends to happen when you join the boards
<< <i>Does one banner lead to a second banner for someone else? That's what bugs me about it. Of course if it said Williams Gallery, then I wouldn't care. I put duck tape over it so I couldn't se it! Jerry >>
dont like my local dealer huh.
that's my line!

Russ - regarding the cave, it's my cave, and in my cave we don't have a need for speedy Internet access. The only online stuff we do is submit insurance claims, which is all text-based uploads and downloads. The Internet access is strictly for my entertainment during a break or lunch time.
On a final note, can anyone recommend software to block the banners (pop-ups are already blocked via Eathlink's pop-up blocker)?
<< <i>In retrospect, I probably overreacted a bit. I apologize to those I offended. >>
I've also overreacted myself on occasion. However, you might want to edit the title of this thread to reflect your regret.
New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.
