Scan of Well Defined Vintage Vending Stamp

gemintgemint Posts: 6,101 ✭✭✭✭✭
Well I located the card that has the vending stamp discussed in a previous thread. This one is pretty bold and well defined. The card received an unqualified 8. Anyone else have cards with these stamps on them? It would be interesting to see if there was any variation in the stamp design. I'll see if I have any more.

Thanks Gemint for showing this. That one looks completely different than my '68 Gabrielson (even with mine appearing smudged).

Gemint - thanks - the exact same stamp on the '57 Topps Hit Stars that I scanned in the previous thread.

Edited to add: for simplicity, I'll show it again, along with the other stamp that I assume is just a variation of the first:

Im glad that they give you a NQ for that, but in my opinion it somewhat takes a little away from the card. Are these stamps only on 60's era cards? I have never seen them on a 50's card.

The Hit Stars are from 1957, but it would be hard to determine for sure if these stamps were placed that year. In those days, non-sports cards were available several years after they were issued - the druggists just kept the boxes available till they sold out. I would imagine stocking vending was the same deal....any specialists out there know for sure?
