1995 Penny

Were there any special 1995 U.S. Lincoln Pennies made that year? I found one that has no mint letter and appears yellow instead of copper?

Thanks

  • All pennies wth no mint mark were minted in Philly. The yellow could be paint, or some wierd toning, or somthing else.

  • there is a earlier thread about a similar discussion.
It turns out a lot of these wierd pennies were high school/middle school laboratory classroom experiments with plating coins.
But yellow sounds like someone used a copper polish/brass polish of some sort on the coin. The Zinc reacted to it giving it the yelow color.

    Welcome aboard.

1995 cents with no mint mark were made in Philly. There are many things which
could cause an unusual color and in this case it probably happened outside the
mint. You could try getting a good weight for the coin. If it's heavy then a plating
    would be likely.
