What's the best way to sell...

A few years ago when I was even more ignorant about grading services and coin than I am now, I bought some Morgan Dollars slabbed by PCI. I want to sel of some of them now and would like to know some of your opinions as to what the best way to sell them might be.

Should I leave them in these slabs even though that may make them "less desirable," or should I crack them out and just sell them raw?
Perhaps there is another alternative I am not aware of...let me know you opinion.

  • I would leave them in the slab, at least that way they are authenticated. As far as grades go, put up some pics in the BST board and you will most likely get some decent offers from people here. Most of us here, buy the coin not the slab. Just be prepared for counter offers.

If they are common date/grade, leave them. People will pay less sight unseen even if the holder lists the right grade. If they are worth more, it may be worth it to you to cross them.
  • from what the discussions have been round here of late,if they are NOT in the gold holders, they may be worth cracking out or even just a x @ PCGS or NGC which could improve the perceived value.
