Rating Someone

I want to rate someone here who helped me out. How do I do that. I go to their profile and their rating nr. and nr. of votes are listed, but where do you rate them at??

If there is no drop down box available, it means you've already rated them. Only once per member.

  • There should be a drop down menu below the number of votes, if there isnt, they probably turned it off in thier settings. Click on my profile to see what I mean. image

Edit: Dang I'm a slow typer. image

Ask me no questions, I'll tell you no lies.
  • I understand why you can't rate someone more than once. Build em up and rake em down. But I still would like to rate some people each time they have positive advice or who have PMd me with help. A one shot time doesn't seem fair. So, I guess a big THANK-YOU is all I can do. Why don't some people have their rating deals turned on?

The problem is that allowing multiple ratings from a single user would be abused by some simply because they disagreed with an opinion, or just because they have nothing better to do. It is the nature of a popular forum that there will always be a few snarfs around.

I brought up questions about this rating thingee about a week ago, and then russ pummelled me with a 10, and then other people must have piled on, and within a day my rating had dropped (or increased) from a 3 to a 5 point something. So either I'm more liked, or less liked, and of course the people that added their ratings may have not intended what the rating actually means......

Some folks say that 1 is the highest and 10 means your a stupid, ignorant, acg-hawking troll..... image

Curiously I've gotten two (1) ratings since this thread started. It's always hazardous to respond to these threads.

Something is funny with some people's rating gizmos. I noticed with three people this evening, I'd click the button to change nrs., click on a new nr., and then it would rate before I clicked the rate button. For one person's it went in even before I clicked on a nr. with all the rating nrs. showing. What happens if more than one person is rating someone at the same time? For all 3 I also noticed when I openned their profile page, the rate nr. was already highlighted. Everybody else worked fine.
