That is a sweetie. But it doesn't LOOK that heavy.

P.S. ....Do NOT dump it for a fiver. Get both. The 2 pound is a nice size.

Nor get a bezel. heh heh

I was kidding about dumping it, of course. This piece literally jumped from the auction box into my pocket when I was viewing all those British baubles......I said, "No! No! We must adhere to protocol!" image

Aside from the 1823 £2 which was way out of my range, this was the Victorian star of the gold section, and I'm extremely pleased it made it's way to "tha wee mus hus".

I also added an exceptional Jubilee 1/2 sov., so all I need is the £5 and the Sovereign to finish the Jubilee business strike section.....did I say "ALL" image Finding a £5 to match will be well neigh impossible, but who knows?

Anyway, this £2 just shimmies in the light, largely due to almost entirely unbroken lustre throughout, and it's so totally original it's scary. It has a golden-green patina not unlike the New Orleans Eagles of the US. The darker areas in the fields are semi-prooflike, especially by the date.

I'll post the other gold bits later..........

Very nice, what is the diameter and thickness of this coin?

The diameter is 28.0 mm, and it weighs 16.0 grams.

Thickness? About the same as a U.S. Eagle.
