I notice that PCGS prices keep going up. In the Lincoln series, especialy the early years. A 1910 s 66 red is at $3000.00. What would it really go for? I own a NGC 66 red. I know they are less. Are the early red Lincolns still really hot and is this a a good time to sell? there has to be a top somewhere. I do notice that it is mostly the 66's that are going up and the 65's haven't done too much. steve

As for the price guide...it's hardly a realistic measure of the market.

I agree with coppercoins. The price guides can be thrown out when it comes to the really nice, stand- out Lincolns. There is just no telling where the price will land when a super nice early Lincoln crosses the block. There are numerous new players as well as the "old guard" waiting to pounce on really nice coins. My advice is try the 10-S as a cross a couple of times. I would say a nice 10-S in 66RD is not a $3000 coin. About $2500 is more realistic, with no spots and overall nice look. But, get that coin into a 67RD holder and $40,000 wouldn't be far off the mark.

All grades have gone up... the price guide just refuses to update them all. I don't know why. Some of the ones they update they move too high (like the 66rd 10-s, or 09-s vdb) while some ms64's they moved up a little but still not to anywhere near where they should be. I still feel the price guide is useless.
