How do you differentiate light motto from heavy motto on a 1934 Wash quarter?

    It's quite noticable. There is also a medium motto. Light motto is very soft, very low relief. Heavy motto is quite bold and medium is in the middle.

    New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.

    Go to heritagecoin.com, then select washington quarters and then put in 1934. They have all three types there.
